The Webex team is having an exhilarating week at Cisco Live US, the premier annual event in Las Vegas. This event is always a highlight, providing a valuable venue to connect with our customers, understand their unique challenges, and explore future innovations. This year, we were thrilled to engage with over 20,000 attendees during the four-day event. Participants enjoyed a host of groundbreaking Webex announcements, compelling keynotes, insightful iTalks, and immersive live demos, making it a truly exceptional experience. Below are some of the key announcements for the Webex Suite and Calling.
Webex Suite Innovations
Our industry-recognized Webex Suite, trusted by millions around the world, offers the utmost flexibility to connect, collaborate, and engage in today’s dynamic hybrid work environment. AI momentum with Webex Suite
In today’s hybrid model, AI is required to deliver rich experiences for employees and customers. The AI Assistant for Webex Suite has been built to meet the needs of both in-person and remote users. I am excited to share that AI Assistant for Webex is now generally available so customers can take advantage of our latest AI innovations such as summaries in Meetings and Messaging, Reword and Translate Message and so much more.
Vidcast Pages
Now fully integrated within the Webex app, Webex Video Messaging powered by Vidcast simplifies the process of creating and organizing video messages, ensuring a seamless and effective user experience. We are excited to introduce custom Vidcast Pages coming soon. A dynamic tool that empowers you to design a personalized page tailored to the distinct tastes and requirements of your team, department, or client base. With Vidcast, you can seamlessly integrate a variety of videos and carefully curated playlists that directly speak to the interests and demands of your audience. This innovative feature allows for a hands-on approach to content curation, enabling you to handpick educational tutorials, inspiring talks, or even light-hearted entertainment that resonates with your viewers. With these tailored Pages, you’ll be able to deliver a more targeted and engaging content experience.
Edge Connect Partnership with Megaport
Many enterprises, industries and use cases require private, secure, low-latency network connections to optimize meeting experience for partners, customers and employees while also enhancing security. With Webex Edge connect, customers experience high quality, reliability and security provided by a managed QoS-enabled peering connection from their premises to Webex. I am excited to announce that we have partnered with Megaport who offers one of the largest data centers, and cloud agnostic global, software-defined middle-mile networks. Megaport’s global Network as a Service provides private, scalable and on-demand connectivity through over 100 Data Center Operators to over 800 Data Centers and over 280 Cloud On-Ramps. All provisioned in minutes, not months.

Today, Webex Calling is trusted by over 15 million users around the globe. Our growth is driven by a commitment to enhancing communication experiences and expanding our global presence. With features like Voice queues, HD voice, Enhanced Survivability, Webex Go BYOD and Mobile Operator, Microsoft Teams integration and more, Webex Calling delivers innovations to help scale and grow businesses of all sizes. Over the past year alone, we’ve extended our coverage to 30+ additional countries, now totaling over 150+ markets worldwide.
We are also excited to announce Webex Calling by Tata Communications, which brings unparalleled cloud calling experiences to the Indian market. This collaboration underscores our dedication to expanding our services in key growing markets and providing users with the best possible communication and connectivity tools. With Tata Communications’ extensive network and local regulatory expertise, users can expect a fully compliant enterprise-grade calling experience in India. This solution is generally available and orderable.
At Webex, we believe in empowering our users to do more with calling. To that end, we are continually enhancing our platform with new features designed to improve the customer experience. Earlier this year we launched Webex Customer Experience Essentials, which includes new agent, supervisor, and analytics experiences. At Cisco Live US 2024, we announced the general availability of barge and whisper features and the upcoming availability of wrap-up codes.
Webex native call recording
Webex Calling now includes native call recording using the robust recording capability of the Webex platform. Recordings are stored in the Webex cloud and data is encrypted in transit and at rest, is accessible to third-party partners via API. In the coming months users will be able to access recordings in the Webex app and additional recording features will be available. Call recording is included with Webex Calling and Webex Wholesale offers.
Our Calling ecosystem of partners continues to expand. We are excited to welcome new partners ASC, Eleveo, and Theta Lake to Webex Calling. These collaborations bring even more value to our users, offering advanced solutions for compliance, analytics, recording, and security. These partners are present in the World of Solution showcasing the latest innovations and soliciting participant feedback to further improve upon these solutions.
Calling PSTN partner page in Control Hub
Control Hub has been enhanced to make it easier to view Certified Calling Providers. You can now view the provider’s logo and information about the partner directly in Control Hub.
One of our most anticipated features is the introduction of AI-generated call summaries, in the Webex App. This cutting-edge technology will streamline post-call workflows with succinct call summaries and highlights of notes and action items. With these AI-powered enhancements, Webex Calling users can expect even greater efficiency and productivity.
After four days packed with announcements, interactive demos, engaging sessions, and the Cisco Live Celebration headlined by Elton John, it’s time to bid adieu to Las Vegas.
